Privacy
No accounts, advertising profiles, or sale of personal information. Checklist progress stays in your browser.
What we do not collect
There is no account system, sign-in, contact form, newsletter, advertising network, remarketing, or cross-site personalization. We do not sell personal information.
What the wizard asks for
Your state, whether you are buying, selling, gifting, inheriting or moving, and a few yes/no questions about your situation. The answers remain in your browser and page URL; the aggregate event described below records only the state code, transfer situation, and role so we can tell whether the checker is useful.
The wizard deliberately does notask for a VIN, license plate, title number, driver’s license number, name, address, Social Security number, or any payment detail, and it never accepts uploaded documents. It is an informational checklist, not a filing service — if a site claiming to help with a title transfer asks you for those things, that is worth pausing over.
What is stored in your browser
Two things, both in localStorage, both readable and deletable by you at any time through your browser’s settings:
- Which checklist items you have ticked, so they survive a page reload.
- Which states you looked at recently, to save you re-selecting one.
Ticking a checklist box does not file anything with any agency and does not notify anyone. It is a note to yourself.
Aggregate analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate, cookieless page and referrer counts. We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand overall acquisition and page performance. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled; Google Analytics may use first-party measurement cookies according to your browser settings.
We record aggregate events when a checklist is opened or an official-source link is followed. Event details are limited to the state code, transfer situation, role, and link type. They never include names, addresses, VINs, title numbers, uploaded files, or free-text entries.
Server logs
The site is served as static files by a hosting provider, which keeps its own operational request logs, as any web host does. We do not use those logs to build advertising profiles, enrich or sell that data, and we cannot connect it to you.
Links to state agencies
Official links point to state government sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for.
