What to include

The fastest fix comes from a report with four things:

1. The state, and the page or situation the error is on.
2. The claim that is wrong, quoted or described — a deadline, a fee, a form number, a signature or notary requirement.
3. The official page that contradicts it, with a link. This is the part that matters most: we correct against official sources, so a link to the state’s own page or form turns a report into a fix immediately.
4. What it should say instead, if you know.

Reports from title offices

If you work at a title office, a county tax office or a license plate agency and we have described your process incorrectly, please tell us — including where our description matches the published page but not what your counter actually does. That gap is genuinely useful and hard to find any other way. We will record it as a difference between the published rule and local practice rather than quietly overwriting the source.

What happens next

A report is checked against the official source before anything changes. If it is confirmed, the state record is corrected and its check date updated. If the official page itself is ambiguous or contradicts another official page, we record the conflict on the page rather than silently picking a side — and where a state’s record stops being complete enough to answer the common situations, it is held back from search results until it is. How that judgement is made.
